Exclusive Acoustic KOPEK

I’m very excited to share two exclusive acoustic performances from Kopek. You know these guys from their hit song “Cocaine Chest Pains.” But if you’re like me, you’ll enjoy taking a peek behind the scenes on a couple of other songs…

Sub Human

“I was kind of wondering why we’re not further along as a race of people. We’re still killing each other because of religion. Profit seems to be more important than the welfare of people,” Daniel Jordan of Kopek says, explaining the connection between a handful of songs on 2010′s White Collar Lies, including “Sub Human.”

“The hopefulness that things will change in the future, I suppose…that’s really where this song came from.”

Floridian

“People look at it like a love song,” Jordan says of “Floridian.” “We were just totally enamored with the word ‘floridian.’”

“Kopek’s love song,” bassist Brad Kinsella says. “The only one.”

Make sure to call your local rock station to request Kopek’s latest single, “Love is Dead.” If you’ve ever seen them live, you know the kind of energy this song creates in the crowd.

The band is taking a brief break in their homeland of Ireland, but don’t worry, I’m told they’ll be coming back to the states.

I’ve always been a big fan of this band. Their music is raw and they put on a hell of a live show. I had the chance to chat with Jordan at Gramercy Theater, and he couldn’t be a nicer guy. Kopek loves playing the states, and I’m excited to hear the details of their next US tour.
