Marilyn Manson premiered his brand new track on KROQ in Los Angeles this week…In case you missed it, “No Reflection” is available for streaming on the world wide web…and right here at Free Gotham.
“No Reflection” is a fresh taste of Manson’s forthcoming album, Born Villian.
This song reminds us of Manson’s earlier tunes, and as Loudwire puts it, “reminiscent of some of the Antichrist Superstar’s best work.”
We could call ‘No Reflection’ a “comeback” single, since it’s reminiscent of some of the Antichrist Superstar’s best work. It starts off firing on all cylinders, with chunky power chords that repeat through much of the song, like rounds of ammo. It doesn’t sound like ‘Beautiful People,’ arguably his signature song and biggest hit, but it has a similar tension and release formula.
What do you think? Is this Manson’s comeback single? Does he need a comeback single? Is this single strong enough to bring him the success of his earlier work?
If you like what you hear, there’s no doubt you’ll enjoy seeing Marilyn Manson live on his US theater tour that makes stops in Huntington, Atlantic City, Montclair, Houston, Kansas City, and Minneapolis, in addition to several other cities across the country.
Here’s the terrifying trailer for the new album, directed by none other than Shia LeBeouf. The tune is “Overneath the Path of Misery,” which also gives you a taste of Born Villian.
Born Villian is set to be released on May 1st, 2012.Like Free Gotham on Facebook...
