On Monday, fans of Slipknot were given an early, and very confusing, Christmas present.
No description accompanies the video on Slipknot’s website other than the simple numbers, “7.17.12.” July 17th, 2012 marks the third Tuesday of the month, which had many fans trying to predict what sort of album the Iowa hardrock pioneers would release. Remixes? Greatest hits?
In a Tweet on Tuesday afternoon, Corey Taylor answered the question.
11 days till the meaning of HoGaB is revealed. And I believe 7.17.12 is when the Slipknot greatest hits album drops.

Honestly, the full answer is most likely a little bit of greatest hits and a little bit of remixes. Why else would “Antennas To Hell” be released? It’s obviously Sid Wilson’s take on two classic ‘Knot tunes. So, the question being asked now is what exactly will the Greatest Hits entail? Multiple discs? Hidden remixed tracks? Special, deluxe edition?
Regardless, it will be a must-have for any Maggot, and will only get fans more excited for the highly anticipated new album set to be recorded sometime in early 2013.
Make sure to get out and see Slipknot this summer as they headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. The touring fest kicks off June 30th in San Bernardino, California.
